Visit and guided tours

Visit and guided tours

A visit to De Ster becomes even more interesting and educational if you get a tour from one of the millers or mill guides. You can read more about the possibilities here.

Guided tours

A visit to De Ster becomes even more interesting and educational if you get a tour from one of the millers or mill guides. During opening hours it is not always possible to give all visitors an extensive tour. You can therefore also make an appointment for a tour, for example as a family or company activity. The tours are in groups of up to 15 people and last about an hour. We can guide several groups at the same time.

De Ster is accessible for visitors for free, but a small donation is highly appreciated. The guided tours by appointment are E2.50 p.p. It is also possible to make an appointment for a group visit outside normal opening hours. Outside normal opening hours you also pay E 2.50 p.p., but the minimum price is E 50. All income benefits the preservation of De Ster and De Lelie.

School classes

School classes are also welcome at De Ster. The children do different activities in groups and learn about our mill and also about mills in general. For safety reasons, school classes are welcome starting from group 3. An adult supervisor is required per group of 5 children.

Photo shoots

De Ster is also a unique place for taking photos on special occasions, such as wedding photos or anniversaries and reunions. There are beautiful spots in the mill to take pictures and outside on the gallery (platform below the sails) of the mill, the Kralingse Bos and De Kralingse Plas provide a beautiful background. We make sure there is someone to guide you. The stairs in the mill are quite steep and the mill is not completely dust-free, but we will help you as much as possible. The costs for a photo report are E20 during opening hours and E35 outside opening hours.
